Tolerances
Tolerances Chart
Our SIPs have industry leading tolerances. Whereas most tolerances associated with conventional stick framing are approximately 1", you can expect a higher level of quality of SIP tolerances from Foam Laminates of Vermont.
Code Approvals
Foam Laminates of Vermont meets all guidelines as set fourth by the International Code Council (ICC) for structural insulated panels (SIPs). The ICC is a not for profit organization established in 1994 in order to combine and coordinate the efforts of several building construction codes. The ICC is a merger of the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA), the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc. (SBCCI), and the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO). These organizations previously developed and monitored separate building codes but now have combined to offer a national model construction code without regional limitations.

As of May, 22, 2007 the ICC adopted Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) into the International Residential Code. This decision further solidifies SIPs as a legitimate alternative building technology and will help to secure the future of SIPs in the residential construction industry.
